Phospho-Creb1 binds the promoter of the Cebpb gene

Creb1 that is phosphorylated in response to Csf2 (GM-CSF) binds two cyclic AMP responsive elements (CREs) located 65 bp and 110 bp upstream of the transcription start site in the promoter of the Cebpb gene (Hirai et al. 2013). Transcription of Cebpb is activated during "emergency granulopoiesis" by cytokines produced in response to bacterial infection.
