Adam10 cleaves Notch4
Mouse endothelial cell-targeted knockout of both Notch1 and Notch4 is needed to recapitulate vasculature defects seen upon endothelial cell-targeted Adam10 knockout. Based on this and on sequence similarity between Notch4 and other Notch family members, it is highly likely that Adam10 cleaves ligand-activated Notch4, releasing the membrane-bound NEXT4 fragment (Alabi et al. 2016).
