Mouse Nr2e1 (Tlx) binds the evolutionarily conserved Tlx site in the mouse Pten promoter and represses Pten transcription. Formation of a complex between Nr2e1 and Atn1 (Atrophin-1) is needed for Nr2e1-mediated transcriptional repression (Zhang et al. 2006).
