Matrix metalloprotease 14 (MMP14, MT1-MMP) is activated by translocation to the plasma membrane in response to laminar flow stress (wall shear stress) (inferred from mouse cells). The translocation is synergistically enhanced by calcium influx through PIEZO1 channels and sphingosine 1-phosphate (inferred from mouse cells). MMP14 plays a role in subsequent angiogenesis (inferred from mouse cells).
