CCND1 expression in melanoma cells depends in part on the binding of CTNNB1 to a cognate site in the CCND1 promoter, as assessed by ChIP and reporter gene assay. Consistent with this, mutation of the TCF/LEF binding site abrogates expression of the CCND1 reporter CTNNB1-dependent activation of CCND1 expression can be inhibited by recruitment of the HINT1 repressor along with co-repressors SIN3A and HDAC1 (Genovese et al, 2013).
