MITF-M-dependent SIRT1 expression contributes to cellular proliferation and suppression of senescence in melanoma cells (Ohanna et al, 2014). SIRT1 contributes to metabolic reprogramming downstream of MITF-M through regulation of acetylation of targets such as PPARGC1A and CBP/EP300 (Bosch-Segue and Vaquero, 2011; Canto et al, 2009; Bouras et al, 2005; reviewed in Goding and Arnheiter, 2019; Falletta et al, 2022).
