ICOS is a member of the CD28 co-stimulatory receptor superfamily that is involved in T-cell responses to a foreign antigen, including proliferation, secretion of lymphokines and regulation of molecules that mediate cell-cell interaction. ICOS is present at the plasma member as a homodimer, where it interacts with its ligand ICOSLG (Hutloff et al, 1999; Beier et al, 2000; reviewed in Solinas et al, 2019). ICOS gene expression is regulated downstream of activated NPM-ALK in a manner that depends on the fusion protein kinase activity and STAT3 (Zhang et al, 2011).
