TGFBR3 is transcriptionally regulated by SP1, MyoD and its promoter contains RAR binding element (López‑Casillas., 2003, Cook et al, 2019). Using Transient Transfection, TGF‑β Affinity Labeling and Immunoprecipitation techniques, transcriptional regulation of TGFBR3 by these transcription factors has been confirmed in the C2C12 myoblast cell line (López‑Casillas., 2003). TGFBR3 transcription is also known to be negatively regulated by TGFbeta signaling through SMADs (Hempel et al.,2008), negatively regulated by MYCN through an HDAC1-mediated mechanism (Knelson et al.,2013) and also epigenetically through HELLS (Hou et al.,2021) and KLF16 (Chen et al.,2022).
