SLC25A42 associated with the inner mitochondrial membrane mediates the exchange of cytosolic CoA-SH for mitochondrial ADP. In vitro, SLC25A42 also shows a high transport affinity for dephospho-CoA (DP-CoA), and adenosine 3′,5′-diphosphate (PAP), not annotated here (Cavestro et al. 2023, Fiermonte et al. 2009).
