HOXA11 (or HOXC11 or HOXD11) , EYA1, and PAX2 physically interact to form a complex (inferred from mouse homologs) which binds the GDNF gene (inferred from mouse Hox11:Eya1:Pax2 binding the Six2 gene in Gong et al. 2007). The components of the HOX11:EYA1:PAX2 complex synergistically activate expression of GDNF (inferred from the mouse homologs).
