The NOTCH1 intracellular domain (NICD from NOTCH signaling) complexed with RBPJ, LEF1:CTNNB1 from WNT signaling, and TBX6 activate expression of the transcription repressor HES7 specifically in presomitic mesoderm (inferred from mouse homologs). HES7 represses its own expression by binding E-box sequences in its promoter, which causes oscillatory expression during somitogenesis (inferred from the mouse homolog).
