BTG4 bound to PABPN1L and eIF4E of the mRNP recruits the CCR4-NOT complex via an interaction between BTG4 and CNOT7 of the CCR4-NOT complex (inferred from mouse homologs). CNOT7 then deadenylates the mRNA, targeting the mRNA for degradation (inferred from mouse homologs).
