During zygotic genome activation, expression of Terminal uridylyltransferase 4 (TUT4) is activated by YAP1:TEAD4, possibly by YAP1:TEAD4 directly binding the promoter of TUT4 (inferred from mouse homologs). In mice, Yap1 is present in oocytes and maintained through zygotic genome activation. Tead4 is not present in oocytes and is activated during zygotic genome activation (Sha et al. 2020).
