After DPPA3 binds UHRF1 in the female nucleus, the UHRF1:DPPA3 complex translocates from the nucleus to the cytoplasm (Mazid et al. 2022, and inferred from mouse homologs). Binding of UHRF1 by DPPA3 inhibits de novo DNA methylation by DNMT1 (inferred from mouse homologs).
