Distribution and free concentration of various drugs can be significantly altered as a result of their binding to serum albumin (ALB). Cipro binds to ALB in a pH dependent manner. Slight pH variations in different extracellular environments may affect the dissociation of the Cipro:ALB complex (Ahmad et al, 2006; Anand et al, 2012; Varshney et al, 2014).
