Based on mouse studies, CDH19 associates at the plasma membrane with alpha-catenin (CTNNA1), beta-catenin (CTNNB1), gamma-catenin (JUP) and delta-catenin (CTNND1) (Huang et al. 2022). This is in accordance with what was previously shown for another type II classical cadherin, cadherin-11 (CDH11) (Kiener et al. 2006; Ortiz et al. 2015; Lee et al. 2018). Additional studies are needed to elucidate the order and other details of catenin binding to CDH19.
