Based on a mouse study, the homodimer of BHLHE22 (also known as BHLHB5) binds to the consensus BHLHE22-binding element CATATGNTNT in the first intron of the CDH11 gene (Ross et al. 2012). A Reactome curator-conducted analysis of the human CDH11 gene identified several BHLHE22-binding elements in intron 1 of CDH11, of which some are conserved between human and mouse.
