Eomesodermin (EOMES) and TBXT (T, Brachyury) are expressed in mesoderm and endoderm progenitors in the primitive streak. In mesoderm progenitors EOMES and TBXT bind the promoter of the Snail1 (SNAI1) gene (inferred from mouse homologs). SNAI1 is a master regulator of epithelial to mesenchymal transition.
