MCM8, a member of the MCM family of proteins, forms a complex with CDC6 (Volkening and Hoffmann 2005; Wang et al. 2021). MCM8 may facilitate association of CDC6 with the origin of replication complex (ORC) either directly (Volkening and Hoffmann 2005) or by increasing the protein stability of CDC6 (Wang et al. 2021).
