RAS is recruited to a complex that also contains SRC, PRKCZ and the p85 subunit of PI3K in response to estrogen stimulation (Castoria et al, 2004). RAS signaling downstream of ESR1 contributes to cell cycle progression through the induction of cyclin D transcription and the nuclear export of CDKN1B (Castoria et al, 1999; Castoria et al, 2001; Migliaccio et al, 1996; Rodier et al, 2002; reviewed in Castoria et al, 2010; Arnal et al, 2017).
