The human gene SLC35B4 encodes the bifunctional UDP-xylose and UDP-N-acetylglucosamine transporter YEA4. YEA4 resides on the Golgi membrane and mediates the influx of UDP-xylose into the lumen (Ashikov A et al, 2005).
