The PPARG:RXRA heterodimer bound to fatty acids activates transcription of the Perilipin (PLIN) gene. In mouse the Pparg:Rxra heterodimer binds the promoter of the Perilipin gene (Leftovera et al. 2008). The Perilipin (PLIN) gene is transcribed to yield mRNA and the mRNA is translated to yield protein. Expression of Perilipin is upregulated during adipogenesis.
