General
Nicotinic acetylcholine receptors containing alpha3 beta4 are predominantly found in autonomous ganglia and adrenal medulla. However, a certain portion of these receptors in some neural tissues like medial habenula nucleus, dorsal medulla, pineal gland and retina may contain accessory subunits such as delta, gamma and epsilon. Each receptor has a total of five subunits (Biochemical Pharmacology 78 (2009) 703-711.
