PIAS1,2-1 SUMOylate XRCC4 at lysine-210 with SUMO1 (Yurchenko et al. 2006). SUMOylation causes localization of XRCC4 to the nucleus. (An unSUMOylatable mutant of XRCC4 is localized to the cytosol.)
