The kinetochore is composed of a number of large protein networks and subnetworks. The CCAN network including CENP-C, CENP-H, CENP-I, CENP-K, CENP-50, CENP-O, CENP-P, CENP-Q, CENP-R, CENP-L, CENP-M, CENP-N, CENP-T, and CENP-S. This network likely consists of several sub-groups including (CENP-H, I, K), (CENP-50/U, O, P, Q, R) and possibly 2-3 more other sub-groups which are less well defined. The KMN network, contains three clear subgroups: KNL1, the Mis12 complex (Mis12, Dsn1, Nnf1, Nsl1), and the Ndc80 complex (Ndc80/HEC1, Nuf2, Spc24, Spc25). This network also associates with Zwint.
