FBXW7 mediates ubiquitination of phosphorylated NICD1
A recombinant mouse NICD1 was shown to be ubiquitinated upon binding to recombinant human FBXW7 (Oberg et al. 2001), which is followed by NICD1 degradation (Fyer et al. 2004). Ubiquitination and degradation of NICD1 by FBXW7 is dependent on PEST sequence in Notch.
