Phosphorylated Cubitus Interruptus (CI) is now recognised by Slimb (SLMB), which is part of the SCF (Skp1, Cdc53, and F-box) ubiquitin ligase complex. CI associates with SLMB via its phosphorylated residues and is then ubiquitinated by the SCF ubiquitin ligase complex.
